The Foundation - Institute for Child Development (IWRD) (Fundacja-Instytut Wspomagania Rozwoju Dziecka) in Gdansk provides assistance to children with autism and their families.  Children with autism have speech disabilities, problems establishing contact with others, and are unable to play.  They live in their own separate worlds.

The IWRD Special Kindergarten for Children with Autism is a private facility offering early development intervention and education for children with autism and related disorders.  It opened on September 1, 2006.

The IWRD Psychology and Education Clinic is a private facility offering diagnosis of developmental disabilities, educational and therapeutic programs designed for the needs and capabilities of individual children, as well as training for parents.  It has been in operation since November 2010.

The IWRD Teacher Training Center is a private facility offering training in comprehensive diagnosis and therapy of developmental disabilities (such as autism, Asperger syndrome) as well as techniques for remediation of difficult behaviors, delayed intellectual development, and speech disabilities.  Practical training internships for therapists are also offered.
